Silence: Words Unspoken (A Poem)

Silence: Words Unspoken

Silence,
Cries go unheard in the dark.
Sweat and cologne mix,
The pungent smell assaulting my nose.
A hand over my mouth,
And whispers in my ear.
This isn’t happening,
Not to me.
Too many drinks,
And too much trust.
How could he do this?
He’s my leader.
Hurt, pain, betrayal.
A rush of emotions,
None of them good.
My head rushes,
His breath ragged in my ear.
Tears fall freely from my eyes,
He simply ignores that they’re there.
No sooner was he there,
Then he was gone.
And I was left to think.
To think of trust broken,
Lives changed,

And Words Unspoken.
